Would you like to learn how to make beautiful patchwork to create full quilts or quilted parts on your garments? Join us for this lovely course in 3 afternoons in which you will learn how to patchwork and quilt your own pillowcase.

For whom
This fun in-depth course is for beginner sewists who know how to use a sewing machine and would like to learn how to work with a patchwork and quiting pattern. We will be working with quilting cotton, rotary cutters and wadding. Being able to sew straight and rather precise will be beneficial.
Please note: during this course we do not explain the sewing machine in detail. You should feel comfortable to use a sewing machine!
When
These course consists out of 3 Sunday afternoons. All three afternoons are needed to finish the patchwork pillow case. You need to be able to join all three afternoons to finish the project.

Set up
What are you going to learn?
- How to piece together a quilt top using a sewing machine and different popular blocks. This will become the front of your cushion.
- The sandwich stage in which quilt top and batting are joined together.
- You will also learn how to quilt it using a simple design and to create a simple envelope opening for the back of your cushion.
- And to finish it up, you will create bias binding from scratch that will be added to the outside of your cushion
- All of the techniques learned will guide you to make your own quilt in the future.


After this workshop ...
... you have learned how to work with a patchwork and quilting pattern. You have practiced to measure, cut and sew a patchwork block and how to quilt it through with confidence.Besides the basics of patchworking and quilting, you will go home with an amazing pillowcase.
Teacher
This workshop will be facilitated by Ana Valls from CocoWawa Crafts. Ana is a skilled sewing and quilting teacher based in the Netherlands. She designs dressmaking and quilting patterns for the modern maker. She will teach this course in English.

- Organic quilting cotton for the top, back and bias binding
- Cotton batting
- Organic or recycled threads
- Use of the sewing machine and other tools like quilting ruler, rotary cutter, cutting mat, walking foot, and other common sewing tools: pins, scissors, unpicker…
