Quilt a Christmas Stocking - Saturday December 13 '25 (ENGLISH)

Learn to make a super fun Christmas stocking with a block pattern front. The shell is quilted and it comes with added batting and lining. Such a fun project to recreate at home again and again!

For whom

This course is for beginner sewists who know how to use a sewing machine and want to learn some of the basics in patchworking and quilting without having to work on a whole quilt project. The stocking will be such a fun item in your decorated Christmas home or makes a special present.

Set up

What are you going to learn?

• How to sew a patchwork block which will be the front of the stocking
• Quilting the outer layer using a layer of batting and a walking foot
• How to sew the stocking
• How to add lining
• Basic quilting terms, best tools for beginners and quilt piecing techniques
• Step by step creating this fun Christmas stocking

 

After this workshop ...

...you will go home with you selfmade stocking + the pattern to recreate more stockings for friends and family. For sure it will be a fun afternoon with loads of laughs, fun and relaxation.  

  

The teacher

This workshop will be facilitated by Ana Valls from CocoWawa Crafts. Ana is a skilled sewing and quilting teacher based in the Netherlands. She designs dressmaking and quilting patterns for the modern maker. She will teach this workshop in English.

The price of this fun afternoon is €99,- 

The price includes:

• Coffee, tea and sweets
• All required materials:
• Quilting cotton fabric 
• Batting
• Quilting cotton lining
• Zipper
• Organic or recycled thread
• Use of the sewing machine and other tools like quilting ruler, rotary cutter, cutting mat, walking foot, and other common sewing tools: pins, scissors, unpicker…

 

You don't have to bring anything, however if you have fabric or old clothing you like to reuse in the pouch, you may. Please be aware the fabric needs to be made out of 100% cotton. Our teacher will decide if the fabric is suitable to combine in your pouch.

 

Please note: the fabrics for the workshop will be different every time.
